Position Description:


Wireless telecom equipment developer based in Richardson, Texas seeks an experienced LTE System and Hardware tEngineer to work on the development of LTE eNodeB products. The successful candidate will participate in the specification, design, development and testing of LTE and CDMA Base Stations, pico cells and femto cells.
 

Responsibilities:

Experience with and in-depth knowledge of one or more wireless network standards and products such as LTE, UMB, WCDMA /HSPA, CDMA/1XRTT/EVDO, IEEE 802.16x. Familiar with MIMO/OFDM systems, MAC layer and upper layer algorithms and architecture. Thorough understanding in the following areas:

§ eNodeB system architecture including baseband, radio unit, I&RF, PA and BTS site solutions.

§ LTE radio resource algorithms including scheduler, power control, interference cancellation, resource management, mobile management, etc.

§ A detailed knowledge of wireless communications is required.

§ Knowledge of 3GPP specifications for LTE 36.xxx is necessary

§ Pico cell /Femtocell and in depth knowledge on indoor coverage solution.

§ VoIP performance, Multimedia broadcast and multicast services, QoS mechanisms and related protocols such as DiffServ, IntServ, RSVP.

§ Knowledge of link budgets, capacity and throughput analysis. The individual should be familiar with architectural components involved in the support of 3G/4G Mobile Radio Access Networks such as BTS, BSC, PDSN, RNC, RN, eNodeB, MME, SGW and other network elements in the respective architecture models.  

 

Skills & Qualifications:

§ Strong background in LTE or CDMA related wireless product design, including RF hardware, low power amplifiers, and RF Design Simulation tools

§ Experience in RF lab equipment use (S/G, S/A, P/M, N/A, VSA)

§ Experience in Tx, Rx, Synthesizer chains and Direct conversion, Zero-IF design

§ Experience with testing and certification processes for CDMA products

§ Experience with Freescale Microprocessors, TI DSP and Xilinx FPGA beneficial

§ Superior problem solving skills at board level with strong layout skills a must

§ Good communication and documentation skills

§ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

§ BSEE, MSEE or PhD and at least 3-6 years experience in wireless communications preferably for a telecom vendor or telecom carrier
