POSITION PURPOSE

This position will develop embedded software end TCP/IP network protocol development capabilities for IP-Base Station (IP-BS) products.  This position will participate in the design, development and implementation of BSC/BTS IP network related functions. He/She should be familiar with integration and system debugging/testing in a laboratory environment and working independently and as part of a cross functional team.  This position is expected to work on software embedded in IP-BS system focusing on the TCP/IP layer as a member of a software development team with responsibility for developing, integrating and commercializing a system software.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Developing IP-BS embedded software and IP network protocol for CDMA2000 1x and 1xEV-DO Release 0 and Release 0 and Revision A wireless voice and data communications IP-Base Station.

  • Experience with implementation & knowledge of networking protocols desired
  • Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite
    • IPSec, ROHC, Telnet, FTP, NAT, IPv6, XML and socket programming
  • Network protocol implementation and performance optimization for wireless base station
  • Requires extensive experience in design, development, integration, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, implementation of TCP/IP network protocols for wireless base station
  • Must have strong background in real time embedded software design and development for wireless system on embedded processors
Experience in one or more of the following areas a major plus
  • Good understanding of microprocessor architecture and instruction set : PPC82xx, 85xx
  • Comfortable with tweaking boards and debugging hardware parts
  • Drivers design and development on VxWorks, as well as Linux
  • Board Bring-up on embedded platform (BSP)
  • System performance optimization such as CPU, BUS and Interrupt Profiling
    Drivers development includes Bootloader, Memory/Flash devices, Interrupt Controller, Hardware Configuration, Clock Management, Peripheral Drivers, DMA Engine, Timers and GPIO

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong experience in C/C++ programming required.
  • Knowledge of assembly language programming
  • Knowledge of IP technologies, including TCP/IP
  • Fundamental knowledge of CDMA protocol standards, including 1xRTT and EV-DO is a plus
  • Knowledge of packet switched data and circuit switched data technologies
  • Experience with embedded systems, preferably with vxWorks
  • Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must have 3-5 year relevant experience
  • Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
