Dr. Yossi Zilberfarb
President & Co-Founder of NovelSat
Dr. Yossi Zilberfarb, a native of Israel, has 34 years of global telecom experience in both development and implementation of wireless systems. Currently, Dr. Zilberfarb is the President & Co-Founder of NovelSat – an innovative Satcom technology Start Up company based in Herzelia, Israel. Prior to founding NovelSat, Yossi served as a VP Business Development of AudioCodes – a leading VoIP company that offers VoIP enabling technology and solutions, Media Gateway and SBC to world – wide customers. He was the AudioCodes China General Manager in charge of all AudioCodes Sales & marketing activities in China and Hong Kong; selling to Chinese & Hong Kong carriers and to Enterprise customers. He expanded the AudioCodes local sales force and established Chinese distribution channels for Enterprise and for Carriers markets.
Previously, Yossi was VP Business Development at ModemArt – a 3G UMTS Silicon company that has been acquired by Agere. In that capacity he led the cooperation of ModemArt and UTStarcom in developing data modems and UMTS test mobiles. Yossi was the president and founder of CommPrize – a WLAN Silicon chip-set company till 2002. Previously he held several R&D and Management positions at Motorola Israel Wireless Access Systems Division (WASD) leading the development of Wireless Local Loop (WiLL) systems that Motorola deployed commercially in Europe and in Africa. Yossi was the Chief Engineer of Qualcomm Israel developing CDMA Satellite Communication systems and CDMA test simulators.
Between 1986 to 1992 Yossi held several R&D positions in US telecomm industry: Principal Engineer at Qualcomm (San Diego) – focusing on CDMA technology. Previously he was a MTS at AT&T Bell Laboratories at Holmdel, NJ developing Satellite Communication technology and standards for international telephony services over Intelsat facilities. He won Innovative Rewards for his contributions for AT&T International Satellite facilities. Previously Yossi lead the development of several multi-million $ wireless telecommunications programs for South American customers working for Tadiran, Israel – a military communications gear supplier.
Dr Zilberfarb holds a BsC EE (Cum Laude) and Msc EE degrees from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology Haifa, Israel. He holds a PhD degree from the City University of NY (CUNY), NYC. His PhD research focused on Wide Band CDMA PCS field.
Dr. Zilberfarb is a Senior Member of IEEE and served as the Secretary of the IEEE Israeli Chapter between 1998 to 2000.
Dr Zilberfarb has 5 patents granted from his R&D tenure at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Motorola.
